It’s that time of year when parents of primary school aged children in Australia either spend every spare moment trawling Pinterest for ideas for Book Week costumes…or they curl up in a corner and wish it was all over…lol. Ok, perhaps there are plenty of parents who are somewhere in the middle!
This year is our last year of primary school, and therefore the last year of having to come up with a costume for Book Week, so we thought we’d try for something BIG! We’ve been a bit busy recently working on this year’s Book Week costume, but I couldn’t share it until the parade was over (apart from a few teasers on Instagram). And it was this morning!
We’ve already done costumes for the current popular characters (Ash Ketchum last year, Eli Shane in 2015, Hiccup the year before that…), and every year there are plenty of Harry Potter characters so we were going to leave that alone. This year I told our young man to go to Pinterest for some inspiration. And he came up with the TARDIS! Whilst the majority of Australian schools had their Book Week Parade some months ago, our school had another major event happening then, so our Book Parade was this morning!
