Everyone (hopefully!) is thinking about ways they can re-use, re-cycle and generally do their best to look after our planet. There are heaps of ideas out there, and you are probably aware of many of them already!
Re-useable produce bags are an easy thing to change in your routine, and I’ve been thinking about making some for ages. But I have a fruit and veg co-op, and we use very little packaging anyway, so I didn’t think there was much point. There are a couple of items that I do need to package up, like beans or lettuce leaves, and these go in a paper bag. Often these bags are returned to me for re-use. Continue reading
It’s that time of year when parents of primary school aged children in Australia either spend every spare moment trawling Pinterest for ideas for Book Week costumes…or they curl up in a corner and wish it was all over…lol. Ok, perhaps there are plenty of parents who are somewhere in the middle!
This year is our last year of primary school, and therefore the last year of having to come up with a costume for Book Week, so we thought we’d try for something BIG! I love this tea (kitchen) towel that we made many years ago, and wondered why I hadn’t shared it here before now!
We made these to give to family for Christmas. They do take a bit of time and planning, but are definitely a one-of-a-kind item! And it can get a bit messy 😉
I used good quality vintage pillowcases. They were old family linen, but were sitting unused in my cupboard. I didn’t want to throw them out, so I up-cycled them!
