Chilli Jam

There is really only one chilli eater in our house, and it’s not me! But I always have dried chilli flakes in the cupboard, and when I get fresh chillies they go straight into the freezer whole. It’s easy to cut a bit off a frozen chilli when required.

Recently I got a bag of chillies. When I suggested to the chilli eater that I might try making them into some sort of jam or relish, he said just dry them because he wouldn’t eat it. Well, as if that’s going to stop me!! Continue reading

Baked Chicken Legs for School Lunches

Last week our young man came home from school, and told me that the canteen had delicious chicken legs on the menu. Apparently his friend had ordered them, and shared one (thanks, Master K!). Would he like some in his lunch? Oh, yes, he most certainly would!

So I checked out the school canteen menu, and discovered that they offer 3 BBQ chicken drummettes for $3. Pretty reasonable price, considering they are prepared fresh at the canteen. And canteens offer a great service, so I am certainly not going to tell you not to use them! But if I can make something at home, and I have the time and the ingredients, then I’ll give it a go.
